The History
All began in 2020…
NIM – Noise in Myself is an Italian-Swiss band, born from an idea by guitarist and composer Enea Maina from the Lugano/Ticino region. He began composing riffs and lyrics in the summer of 2020 and later met Martina Pedrotti, from Switzerland, who provides vocals and plays the transverse flute. The band has released their self-titled debut album (2022) and the concept EP “Answers…” (2023), both on Wanikiya Record.
Following Martina’s departure in the summer of 2023, the band focused on an intensive live programme with a new line-up. The band called a halt to their activities at the end of 2024.
In the months that followed, Enea Maina began putting together a new line-up, and the new line-up started working on new riffs (August 2025). The band was re-formed with the addition of soprano and vocalist Arianna Bellinaso (Aexylium), Yuri Bordonali on bass (Ecastor) and drummer Omar Mariani (formerly of Those Furious Flames).
The first single of NIM’s new era was released on 25 June 2026.
Noise in Myself’s alternative progressive metal sound combines evocative melodies, powerful riffs and complex rhythms, creating a distinctive and recognisable sound. Progressive and post-metal influences intertwine with ethereal atmospheres and references to spiritual and ancestral sounds, alternating moments of strong emotional impact with more introspective passages. Echoes of Tool, Leprous, Soen, Anathema and Porcupine Tree can be heard in their musical journey, reinterpreted through an original vision.
The lyrics tackle themes linked to inner exploration, the meaning of existence, loss and social commentary. Through references to ancient traditions, spiritual symbolism and ideas inspired by the ancient astronaut theory, Noise in Myself construct an imagery that invites the listener to reflect on their own origins, the present and the deeper meaning of the human experience.
